Power Seat Motor: Service and Repair
Motor M4, Replace

Motor M4, replace 

Remove: 

-

Deactivate the mechanical belt tensioner.  See: Service and Repair/With Power Seat/Deactivating/Activating the Mechanical Belt Tensioner

-

Battery negative cable

-

Seat from car.  See: Service and Repair/With Power Seat/Complete Seat, Replace

-

Control module from bracket.  See: Service and Repair/With Power Seat/Control Module, Replace

-

Connector (black) to the motors from the control module.

-

Screw A retaining the bracket.

-

The two screws (B and C) that secure the motor to the drive gear unit.

-

Mark the positions of the contact pins in the connector.

-

Press the motor contact pins out of the connector using a suitable tool.

Install: 

In reverse order.
-

Activate the belt tensioner.  See: Service and Repair/With Power Seat/Deactivating/Activating the Mechanical Belt Tensioner
