Braking Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Brake Light Switch, Replacement and Adjustment [LC]
NOTE: There are two types of brake light switch. The older model has to be adjusted manually. The later one is self-adjusting.

Brake light switch (older model)
Preparations [LC1]

Check that ignition is switched off.

Remove battery negative lead.

Remove sound insulation.
Removal [LC2]

Undo locknut to brake light switch.

Unscrew brake light switch.

Remove connector.
Installing [LC3]

Depress brake pedal 12 mm (0.47"). Lock pedal in that position using a pedal jack.

Screw in new brake light switch.

Install connector.
Adjustment [LC4]

Remove pedal jack and release brake pedal.

Undo locknut if not already loose.
-
Install battery negative lead if removed.
