Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine oil.
2. Remove engine oil filter.
3. Remove oil pan retaining bolts.
4. Tap pan loose from engine block with a rubber mallet.
5. Clean old gasket material from oil pan and engine block mating surfaces.
6. Apply suitable liquid gasket to oil pan and install. 
7. Tighten oil pan bolts to specifications.
