Move the seat to the rearmost position.

Raise the seat cushion to its highest adjustment.

Remove seat pocket (A). Lift front edge of pocket and push backward.

On vehicles with side impact air bag:

LOCK THE SIPS BAG!

Remove transport safety device from its holder inside the seat pocket (see drawing).

-

Attach transport safety device to sensor unit.

ON ALL VEHICLES:

-

Cover the opening in the carpet for the rear seat mounting with paper, cloth or similar to prevent the washers or screws dropping down into the hole.

-

Remove plastic cover for the front outer seat track

-

Remove two mounting bolts for front of seat track (14 mm wrench)

-

Remove plastic seat pocket by disconnecting the electrical connector; store the pocket to avoid damage.

-

Disconnect the 2 remaining electrical connectors on the seat.

-

Open the rear door ( on the side of the vehicle being worked on).

-

Lift the seat from its guide lugs and position so the inside track of the seat is accessible.

-

Remove the seat belt catch bolt (Torx 50); keep the catch and bolt as an assembly and set aside.
