Impact Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disarm SRS as described under "Air Bag System Disarming and Arming.
2. Turn ignition Off, then disconnect battery ground cable.

3. Remove ashtray, cigarette lighter holder and center console, Fig. 24.
4. Remove sensor module attaching screws, then module.
5. Never touch sensor module pins: static discharge may damage module.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Ensure arrow on sensor module faces toward front of vehicle. Tighten attaching screws to specifications. Sensor must be well grounded and

mounted securely to ensure proper air bag operation.

b. After completing installation, arm SRS as described under "Air Bag System Disarming and Arming".
c. Clear DTCs.
