4. Mount strut in vise as illustrated:
a. Relieve load on spring seats with clamps. Position clamps opposite each other and tighten alternately to relieve load on seats.
b. Remove strut mounting nut and washer. Use socket and counterhold.
5. Remove shock absorber retaining nut. Use socket and counterhold.
6. Remove:

Spring seat
-
Rubber bumper and gaiter
-
Spring
-
ABS wire bracket.
7. Inspect spring, strut mounting, spring seat, boot (gaiter) and bumper to ensure components are undamaged.
8. Compress new spring to length of approximately 300 mm (11.81 inch). Use spring clamps.
