Trailing Arm: Service and Repair
Trailing Arm Link

951 2050 Angle Gauge

NOTE:  Rear axle links should be replaced on both sides, one at a time. This description shows the replacement of the left hand side.

Removal 

1. Remove the nut of the rear axle link-trailing arm mounting bolt.
2. Knock out mounting bolt. Use a copper mallet or similar.

3. On left side: 

a. Remove the silencer bracket bolt.
b. Undo the brake pipe from the two mounting clips.

4. Remove trailing arm bracket screws. Leave the bracket hanging in the brake cable mounting lug.

5. Lift the right trailing arm a little with a jack. Pry the link on the left down from the body guide pin. Use a crowbar. Ensure that the trailing arm link

is free of the body guide pin.

6. Install press onto the trailing arm.
7. Press out bushing.
