When the trip odometer mileage exceeds 10,000 km/miles the trip computer trip odometer is reset. After resetting the trip computer starts a new
mileage count for the trip odometer.

When the average speed mileage exceeds 10,000 km/miles or total driving time exceeds 1,600 hours, the trip computer average speed is reset.
After resetting the trip computer starts calculating a new average speed.

When the average fuel consumption mileage exceeds 10,000 km/miles or total fuel consumption exceeds 5,000 liters (1319 US gal), the trip
computer average fuel consumption is reset. After resetting "-----" is displayed in the trip computer display until the car has been driven 200
meters (655 ft). The trip computer then starts calculating a new average fuel consumption.

When the trip computer registers that speed exceeds 280 km/h (174 mph) the trip odometer, average fuel consumption and average speed are reset
in the trip computer.

Warning Function

The trip computer has a built-in warning function for low fuel level and outside temperature. When the outside temperature is within the range + 2°C
to -5°C (36 to 23°F) a warning lamp lights and the outside temperature is displayed. The low outside temperature warning always has the highest
priority. The INFO switch must be used to return to the last function selected.

Diagnosis

The trip computer has an on-board diagnostic system which can detect three types of fault:

If the function selector switch is not connected then "DISC is displayed.

If the outside temperature sensor is not connected or there is a short-circuit to ground in its circuit then "LO" is displayed.

If there is a short-circuit to supply voltage in the outside temperature sensor circuit then "HI" is displayed.

The fuel tank volume signal from the combined instrument panel to the trip computer is also diagnosed. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) CI-133 is
stored in the combined instrument panel on-board diagnostic (OBD) system if there is a short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
