Sunroof / Moonroof Lift Mechanism: Service and Repair

Replacing mechanism 

Removal (entire mechanism):

- 

Remove sun roof.  See: Sunroof / Moonroof Panel/Service and Repair

- 

Remove sun visor.  See: Sun Shade/Service and Repair 

- 

Remove wind deflector.  See: Sunroof / Moonroof Windguard/Service and Repair

- 

Remove cables.  See: Sunroof / Moonroof Cable/Service and Repair

- 

Remove gutter (2 screws on each side).

-

Press mechanism out and pull forwards. 

NOTE!  Never pull the mechanism straight up.

-

The mechanism is clamped in a guide block at the rear end.

 
 
Install (complete mechanism):

-

Install in reverse order.

Check all seals before installing as follows:
