Additional remedies before replacing evaporator
Background:
The evaporator in the A/C system has a surface coating which can occasionally give rise to a concrete-like odor. To prevent this the evaporator is treated
with an agent (P/N 1161454-2) which is sprayed on the outside of the evaporator before installation in the car.
Treatment:
When replacing evaporator the new evaporator should be treated with an odor eliminator before installing in the climate control system. The treatment
should be carried out before beginning other work to allow the evaporator to dry.
Materials:
Odor eliminator A/C (liquid agent), P/N 1161454-2.
Read warning text on pack before commencing work. Use protective goggles and gloves during spraying. Ensure that ventilation is good.
Tools:
Compressed air spray for liquids, for example, the Volvo anti-corrosion agent spray P/N 1159611-1. Protective goggles 9985592-6 and protective gloves
9986064-5.
Assembling the air spray

Fit flat nozzle to Volvo anti-rust spray and clean nozzle.

Shake A/C Odor eliminator container thoroughly and place in spray holder.

Insert spray riser pipe in container and screw spray onto holder.

Set spray to green mark.
