Replacing micro-switch in automatic transmission gear selector mounting

Intermittant difficulties moving the shift lever out of "P" (Park) position without using the manual shift lock override may be due to improper contact in
the micro-switch.

A service kit containing a new micro-switch wiring and holder is available.

Preparation

Remove:

-

battery negative terminal

Remove the center console

Remove:

-

cigarette lighter panel (2 screws)

-

blind plug under the parking brake lever

-

cover plate in the storage bin.

- detach connectors from the center console
- 4 screws and remove center console.
