Corrective action for corrosion under windshield
Background:
Corrosion can occur at the welded Joints which are at the corners of the the flanges under the windshield. This is caused by small amounts of damage
caused to the primer when masking tape is removed after painting.
Steel brushing has been introduced into production to provide better adhesion for the primer.

Method
When replacing windshield, inspect the spot welds for corrosion.
Remove any corrosion by grinding or blasting.
Clean the surface and apply primer, P/N 9139153-2.
Use 50% thinners, P/N 9139300-9.
When the surface is dry apply the 2-component undercoat, P/N 1277888-2.
Use 50% hardener, P/N 1277010-3, and thinners, P/N 9139300-9.
Ensure that the paint is completely dry before bonding the new windshield.
Before using the adhesive use enamel primer, P/N 1161386-6, on the surface.
If the car is to be painted with a color coat the flanges must be masked.
