Clearance when checking:
Cold engine: 0.30-0.40 mm (0.012-0.016 in)
Hot engine: 0.35-0.45 mm (0.014-0.018 in)
Valve Adjustment Sequence
Check and note valve clearance of remaining cylinders:

Turn crankshaft 180 degrees clockwise and check cyl. 3

Turn crankshaft 180 degrees clockwise and check cyl. 4
-
Turn crankshaft 180 degrees clockwise and check cyl. 2
ADJUST VALVE CLEARANCE
Clearance when adjusting:
Cold engine: 0.35-0.40 mm (0.014-0.016 in)
Hot engine: 0.40-0.45 mm (0.016-0.018 in)
Turn camshaft to "clearance checking" position.
Remove adjustment washer:

Rotate the tappets so that the groove is completely to side.

Use press tool 5022 to depress tappets.

Use pliers 5026 to remove washer.
