In monitoring radios returned to Volvo, a large number are replaced for security code problems, i.e. radio does not accept code. If a radio will not accept
the code, first ensure that the correct code has been used in accordance with the entry procedure for the model radio.
The radio code is supplied to the dealer on the dealer's invoice and can also be accessed on the DCS Release Report (refer to Sales Information bulletin #
90-11 dated September 24, 1990). If, after using the radio code acquired from the DCS Release Report, the radio is not activated, the security code can
be checked through Dealer Services. The serial number on the radio case must be supplied when calling Dealer Services. The correct radio code should
be filled in on the blank radio code cards and provided to the customer upon delivery of the vehicle. If the car has a subsequent radio replacement,
update the vehicle file and the customer card with the new code.
If an incorrect code has been entered repeatedly, the radio will go into a "lock-up" mode. When this occurs, you must follow the specific instructions for
each model radio to reset this condition.
