a. If fault found, repair as needed and retest
b. If no fault found (all is in good working condition), replace system relay and retest.
Removing Rubber Boot

Check the air mass meter by removing the rubber sleeve from the connector to access wiring.
Checking Pin# 5

Connect the voltmeter between ground and terminal# 5 (positive lead from system relay) at air mass meter.
Reading: approx. 12 volts
a. If reading is incorrect, check and repair wiring from the air mass meter to the system relay.
b. If reading is correct, continue with next steps.
11.
Connect the voltmeter between terminals# 1 (ground) and 5 (positive lead from system relay).
Reading: approx. 12 volts
a. If reading is incorrect, check and repair wiring from the air mass meter to ground and retest.
b. If reading is correct, continue with next steps.

Remove the lead between pin 21 at ECU connector and ground.

NOTE: The following steps require that the engine coolant temperature is at least 140°F (60°C).
14.
Disconnect the test equipment.
15.
Remove the #1 fuse and reconnect the ECU connector, install the kick panel and glove compartment. Ensure that the rubber seal in the connector
is installed before it is connected to the ECU.
16.
Reinstall the #1 fuse.
17.
Run engine to operating temperature.
