Remove screws holding center console
-
Pull back center console to expose panel around parking brake lever and gear selector lever
-
Fold back panel.
-
Pull back center console to expose gear selector mounting.
All cars:
-
Disconnect 4-pin connector by right side panel (940) or left side (960).
-
Disconnect black wire from position 4. Use terminal removal tool 951 2632-2, (narrow pins).
-
Remove insulation tape from wire harness to expose the black wire.
Removing micro-switch
-
Move the gear selector back to expose the micro-switch.
-
Cut the wire between the micro-switch and solenoid as close to the micro-switch as possible.

Strip the wire.
-
Carefully remove the locking clip that holds the micro-switch, (BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE PLASTIC PINS).
-
Remove the micro-switch.
