Checking Terminal Pins

Check that terminal contacts have been pushed down evenly in connector.

If any connectors have been pushed down to far, poor connection may result.
Checking Pin 6
8.
Turn ignition ON.
9.
Connect a voltmeter between pin 6 (blue) at ECU connector and ground (checking ignition switch power supply).
Reading: approx. 12 volts
10.
If not, check wiring and connectors. If no fault found, replace ignition switch and retest.
Checking Pins 6 And 20
11.
Connect the voltmeter between pin 6 (blue) and pin 20 (brown).
Reading: approx. 12 volts
12.
If not, check wiring (pin 20 to ground) and fix as necessary.
13.
Turn ignition OFF.
