Throttle Position Switch: Description and Operation

Throttle Position Switch

FOR FUEL INJECTION ECU:

The ECU (using idle position only) supplies a voltage to the throttle sensor. When the throttle valve is closed (idle position), the sensor grounds
the ECU, allowing the current to flow from the terminal. This will indicate the throttle position to the ECU. The throttle position sensor is located
on the throttle housing.

FOR IGNITION ECU:

The fuel injection ECU supplies a voltage to the throttle sensor. The ignition ECU (using idle position only) accesses that voltage via a connection.
When the throttle valve is closed (idle position) the sensor grounds the ECU, allowing the voltage to drop at the ignition ECU terminal. This will
indicate the throttle position to the ignition ECU. The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle housing.

FOR TURBO BOOST ECU:

The turbo boost ECU (using full load position only) supplies a voltage to the throttle position sensor. When the throttle valve is in its full load
position (full load switch closes), the sensor grounds the ECU, allowing the voltage to drop at the turbo boost ECU terminal. This will indicate the
throttle position to the turbo boost ECU. The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle housing.
