Idler pulley intended for A-type mounting and C-type belt tensioners (see also A1 and A3).
The hub (4) is positioned 1 mm (3/64") outside of the pulley (see illustration).
The idler pulley may be equipped with a hub cap (5) to protect the hub.

F type

Idler pulley intended for B-type mounting and D-type belt tensioners (see also A2 and A4).
The hub (4) is positioned 3 mm (1/8") outside of the pulley (see illustration).
The idler pulley has a hub cap (5) to protect the hub.

Use of stethoscope with tube is recommended when tracing noise.

WARNING

Hold the stethoscope tube well away from moving parts in the engine. If the tube should contact a moving part of the engine, personal injury could
result.

Remarks:
Take care when tracing types of noise.
Localize the source of the noise before attempting a repair.
