Adapting A/C Compressor

Model year 1992-1994

The existing A/C compressor can be updated for the replacement engine. Replace the existing pulley and clutch plate with the items included in the
update kit.

Replacing the pulley and clutch plate is described in this Service Bulletin on pages 3-5.

Installing Pulley With New Forward Position

Remove the clutch plate

Install counterhold 999 5596-5 on the clutch plate as illustrated.

Detach and remove nut in center of clutch plate.

Remove clutch plate with puller 999 5597-3 as illustrated.

Note!

Keep the shims located on the shaft behind the clutch plate. (They normally remain in place on the shaft but can stick to the clutch plate).

They will be reused and must be replaced on the shaft in the same order when the new clutch plate is installed.
