Connecting the breakout box

Special tools:

951 2901 DIM/ICM adapter See: Tools and Equipment/951 2901 DIM/ICM Adapter 
951 1428 Breakout box  See: Tools and Equipment/951 1428 Breakout Box 
951 1499 Cable  See: Tools and Equipment/951 1499 Cable

Connecting the breakout box

Ignition off

-

Remove the fuse

-

Disconnect the driver information module (DIM). See  Combined instrument panel See: Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and
Repair/Combined Instrument Panel

Disconnect the control module connector.

Connect adapter 951 2901 DIM/ICM adapter See: Tools and Equipment/951 2901 DIM/ICM Adapter  to the control module connector. Connect
breakout box 951 1428 Breakout box  See: Tools and Equipment/951 1428 Breakout Box  and wiring 951 1499 Cable  See: Tools and Equipment/951
1499 Cable  to the adapter.
Alternatively, breakout box 981 3190 Replaced by 9511428 See: Tools and Equipment/981 3190 Replaced By 9511428  can be connected to the
adapter.
Disconnect the breakout box in reverse order.

All values contained below are between the relevant terminal and signal ground, unless otherwise indicated in brackets.

Note! It is important to connect the breakout box and check the ground terminals before taking readings.
