Removal
Preparatory work
Before removing the primary shaft seal, see Transmission, removing.
Removing the clutch slave cylinder
Remove:
-
the catch on the pipe for the clutch slave cylinder. Remove the pipe. Protect the openings against dirt

the clutch slave cylinder.
Removing the primary shaft seal
Use: 999 7003 for removing the seal.
Note: The screw and socket must be unscrewed when tapping on the extractor.
Tap the extractor into the seal. Tighten the inner socket. Counter hold the outer part at the same time so that the extractor expands against the seal.
Tighten the screw in the extractor and remove the seal.
Check that no residue from the old seal is left in the gearbox.
Installation
Installing the primary shaft seal
Lubricate the lip of the seal. Use grease, P/N 116 1241-3 (80 g). Use: 999 7004 for installing the seal.
Pull the sliding drift sleeve forward. Press the seal into place. Guide drift on primary shaft. Tap in the seal until the sliding drift sleeve is against the
gearbox and in the rear sleeve position.
