oxidation

Check that the back-up (reversing) lamp switch is not defective. Check that the back-up (reversing) lamp switch is correctly installed and
connected

Check the signal cable between audio unit terminal #A5 (#19 on the breakout box) and the back-up (reversing) lamp switch terminal (see the
wiring diagram for the correct terminal). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Hint: With the engine running and back-up (reverse) gear selected, the back-up (reverse) lamp must light. If the lamp does not light there is a fault in the
back-up (reversing) lamp switch or the wiring connected to the circuit. If no fault is found above, fault-trace other systems in the car.
