Solid paint without varnish must be repainted without varnish.
Identifying solid base paint + varnish
Bumpers with a solid base paint + varnish can be identified using a polishing agent and a cloth. Polish a small area on the bumper. If the cloth does not
pick up the same color as the bumper, there is a solid base paint + varnish.
If the cloth picks up the same color as the bumper, there is a solid paint.
Procedure
Volvo's solid primer + varnish is the two coat type. It consists of a solid primer and a 2 component varnish. This ensures a good finish with durable
color. Refer to the information from the manufacturer for information about the solid primer.
Stir the solid primer thoroughly before use
This is important to prevent incorrect coloration.
Thin the solid primer to the correct viscosity for spraying
Use the prescribed thinner. Other types of thinner may causes spotting.
Note! When touching up solid paint, always spray a test panel to check the color.
The spray viscosity is usually measured according to SIS cup 4 mm/20°C.
