Brake Master Cylinder: Procedures

Brake Fluid Reservoir, Replacing

Brake Fluid Reservoir, Remove/Install 

Preparations 
Clean the engine space around the master cylinder.
Place cleaning rags around the master cylinder.
Drain the brake fluid reservoir.
Remove the connector support protective cap.

NOTE:  Try to avoid bleeding the brake system if it is not necessary to change the brake fluid.

Removing brake fluid reservoir 

Remove 

-

MT: the hose to the clutch cylinder, seal it off.

-

the brake fluid level sensor connector.

-

the retaining pin, use a 3 mm drift.

-

the brake fluid reservoir from the master cylinder.

-

the "O" rings from the master cylinder.

NOTE:  The brake fluid reservoir can only be removed by first removing the retaining pin.

Installing the brake fluid reservoir 
Carefully clean the reservoir and the master cylinder.
