Preparatory work
Remove:

the battery negative lead. See: Note when disconnecting and connecting the battery lead See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and

Passenger side soundproofing See: Body and Frame/Sound Proofing / Insulation/Service and Repair/Passenger Side Soundproofing.
Removing the power unit blower fan
Remove the 2 x screws (1) and the glove compartment.
Slacken off the screw (2) at the lower edge of the dashboard.
Carefully pry out the dashboard at the lower edge.
Remove:

the connector
-
the 2 x screws and remove the power unit.
Hint: To facilitate access to the screws, use a bit in an adjustable wrench or a small ratchet.
