Hose/Line HVAC: Removal and Replacement

Pipes and hoses

Introduction

Warning! Follow applicable safety regulations regarding working with air conditioning systems.

Note! Read the instructions on slow and fast leakage.

Note! Always use new O-rings greased with AC compressor oil.

Note! Always plug pipes and connections when working with climate control systems.

Note! Hold the pipe in place by hand when undoing and tightening in order to avoid damaging the couplings and pipes.

Overview of pipes and hoses

A1: Hose/pipe between compressor and evaporator
B2: Pipe between coupling and expansion tank
C: Pipe between expansion tank and condenser
D: Hose between condenser and compressor

Preparation

Note! Always replace O-rings when replacing pipes.

Drain the coolant from the system as per.
Oil the O-rings with AC compressor oil.
Disconnect the connections and seal the openings.
Clean all contact surfaces.
