Collect the oil in a container and wipe up any spilled oil using a rag. 
Slacken off hose clamp at the fluid reservoir.
Remove the hose.
Plug the hose connection on the fluid reservoir. 
Remove the pipe assembly from the car. 
Mark out the positions of the pipe clamps. 
Remove the pipe clamps.

Installation 

General information 

The part of the return line with a hose can be replaced individually. This is achieved by replacing the old return hose with the hose taken from the new
return line. The new hose section can then be installed on the old pipe that is still installed in the car.

Aligning/securing return line 

Clean the connections.
Secure the hose clamps on the new pipe as marked earlier.
Install the new return line in position. Check that the hose end aligns with the fluid reservoir.
Install a new hose clamp (A) on the hose.
Remove the plug from the hose connection on the steering gear housing. Connect the hose.
Install the rubber (B) on the return line.

Securing the return line using pipe clamps 

Slide the pipe clamp (B) over the rubber and align the clamp for securing. Place the pipe clamp directly opposite the threaded hole.
Does not apply to B4184SM/SJ: Press the heat deflector plate into place using the clamps over the steering gear housing.
Install the pipe clamp (B) and finger tighten the screw.
Install the pipe clamps (A) and (C). Finger tighten the screws.
Tighten the pipe clamps:

M6 10 Nm 
M8 15 Nm.
