S40 L4-1.9L Turbo VIN 29 B4204T3 (2001)
Clean the connections thoroughly.
Install new O-rings on the pipe.
Position the pipe. Remove the plug from the steering gear housing. Finger-tighten the pipe connection.
Secure the rubber (B), positioned on the return line, over the delivery line.
Securing the delivery line on the steering gear side
Install the pipe clamp using the screw (A).
Slide the pipe clamp (B) over the rubber and align the clamp for securing. Place the pipe clamp directly opposite the threaded hole. B4184SM/SJ:
Insert and finger tighten the screws.
Does not apply to B4184SM/SJ: Press the heat deflector plate with the clamps into place over the steering gear housing. Position the pipe clamp (B)
directly opposite the hole and finger-tighten the screw.
Tighten the nut for the pipe connection on the steering gear housing. Tighten to 15 Nm.
Tighten the pipe clamps: M6 10 Nm, M8 15 Nm. Does not apply to B4184SM/SJ: Secure the cable for the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) to the pipe
clamp (A) before tightening.
Reinstalling components (Does not apply to B41 84SM/SJ)
Reinstall the heat deflector plate on the cowl panel. Tighten the screws. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Installing the delivery line on the power steering pump (does not apply to B41 84SM/SJ)
