Tilt Wheel Handle: Service and Repair
Reconditioning the steering wheel adjuster lever
Preparations
Remove the steering column according to Replacing the steering column See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
Disassembling the steering wheel adjuster, replacing components
Remove:
-
the retaining clip by folding out the locking tab
-
the lock nut and adapter sleeve (left threaded)
-
the springs holding the mounting
-
the mounting
-
the positional arm.
Replace any damaged or worn components.
