Removing the Windshield

Removing the windshield

Special tools:

 115 9784 PULLER HANDLE  See: Tools and Equipment/115 9784 Puller Handle 
 115 9783 COUNTERHOLD CHISEL  See: Tools and Equipment/115 9783 Counterhold Chisel 
 115 9785 PIANO WIRE 0.5 MM  See: Tools and Equipment/115 9785 Piano Wire 0.5 mm 

Special tools:

 998 6030 See: Tools and Equipment/998 6030 

Preparations

Open the hood.

Remove:

-

the cowl according to  Plenum chamber See: Body and Frame/Cowl/Cowl Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair 

-

the rear view mirror according to  The inner rear view mirror See: Body and Frame/Mirrors/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear
View Mirror 

-

the roof trim according to  Roof trim .

Note! Ensure that the molding is correctly removed. It is important that this is done in order to eliminate any problems when installing.

Remove:

-

the sun visor and brackets

-

interior lighting

-

the mounting for the headlining at the A-post.

Note! Do not damage any components when removing the headlining mounting with the extra clamp.

Note! Do not damage the paintwork. Protect the A-posts using masking tape.
