Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair
Needle valve, service valve, replacing
Service valve (at the member) and needle valve
Removal

Disconnect the battery negative lead. See Battery, replacing See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Battery, Replacing

Drain the refrigerant from the system. See Refrigerant, draining See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant, Draining.

Remove the pipe between the expansion valve and the junction point / side member. See Pipes / hoses, replacing See: Hose/Line HVAC/Service
and Repair/Pipes/Hoses, Replacing.
Installation
Install. See Pipe receiver drier, replacing See: Hose/Line HVAC/Service and Repair/Pipe Receiver Drier, Replacing
The needle valve in the service valve
Removal

Remove the valve cap

Unscrew the needle jet. Use special tool 951 1204 REMOVAL TOOL See: Tools and Equipment/951 1204 Removal Tool.
Installation
Install in reverse order.
Note! Use only your thumb and index finger when tightening the service valve using the valve needle tool 981 1994 Valve needle wrench
See: Tools and Equipment/981 1994 Valve Needle Wrench. This is to prevent damage to the seal for the valve.

Vacuum pump the system and leak test. See Refrigerant, draining See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant, Draining

Fill the system with refrigerant and check for leaks. See Refrigerant, draining See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant, Draining

Connect the battery negative lead. See Battery, replacing See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Battery, Replacing
Tighten the valve cap. Tighten to 6 Nm
