Try a new alarm horn

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:

-

Ignition off,

-

Reinstall connectors, components etc.

-

Ignition on.

Activate the alarm horn.
The alarm horn should give a short sound tone.

Condition

No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored.

-

The turn signal lamps operates normally.

Possible source

-

Open-circuit in control signal cable from VGLA control module to turn signal lamps.

-

Fault in transmission control module (TCM).

NOTE:  Before carrying out this test, check that the car is programmed to emit a visual acknowledgement signal when the alarm is activated.

IND.ACTIVE should display the status ON for the turn signal lamps to flash once when the alarm is armed.
