Removal
Removing the center console

Removing the boot from the gear selector
Detach the boot from the gear selector. See Gear selector knob, Geartronic, replacing, 4T65EV-GT See: Gear Selector Knob, Geartronic, Replacing.
Removing the gear selector knob
Remove the gear selector knob. See Gear selector knob, Geartronic, replacing, 4T65EV-GT See: Gear Selector Knob, Geartronic, Replacing.
Angle the top panel with the boot away from the gear selector lever.
Removing the gear selector assembly stop
On earlier models, some gear selector assembly stops are secured using 2 rivets.
Drill out the rivets and tap them out with a drift.
Press in the 4 catches on the sides. Pull the stop straight up out of the gear selector assembly.
Angle the gear selector assembly stop over the gear selector.
