Drill holes in the trailing edge on the storage compartment's mat with a
-6 mm (1/4") drill bit for the cable to the USB/iPod adapter.

Cut the mat to the edge of the hole.

Clean out the hole so that the cable has room.

Reinstall the rubber mat in the bottom of the storage compartment.

Reconnect the battery negative lead.
