Customers may complain about a popping noise from the front shock absorbers when driving over speed bumps.
MATERIALS:
SERVICE:
First, carry out basic analysis to understand where the noise is coming from. If possible, use the Chassis Ear tool kit.
Two repair methods are offered in order to remedy the customer's complaint.
Alternative 1: Install felt tape
This will reduce the noise to a level which most customers can accept and this is the recommended repair.
Lift the car on a hoist and fold up the black dirt protection.
If needed, clean the plastic damper cap.
