Transmission Control Module (TCM)

Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Note! Shift the gear selector into neutral position.

Remove the following items:

-

battery ground cable.  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery, Disconnecting

-

the air cleaner (ACL) housing.  See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service
and Repair 

Caution! Make sure that the switches or pins/sleeves in the transmission control module (TCM) and its connectors are not bent or damaged.

Torque: Gear selector mechanism (nut), 16 Nm
