DESCRIPTION:
Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) has decided to carry out a safety recall on a limited number of model year 2007 and partly 2008 Volvo 580, and a limited
number of model year 2008 XC70 cars.
VCC investigations have identified a deviation in the CEM (Central Electronics Module) software that may affect the functionality of the windshield
wipers under certain conditions. If this condition occurs, it may lead to malfunction either through the wipers activating by themselves or they may not
activate at driver's request/command.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
Cars affected by this recall must be upgraded according to below:
Perform a CEM upgrade, software product no.30786042.
