S80 AWD V8-4.4L VIN 85 B8444S (2008)
Lift the car on a hoist and fold up the black dirt protection.
If needed, clean the plastic damper cap.
Install 4 pieces of felt tape, PN 9182432, on top of each damper cap.
After installation, reinstall the black dirt protection.
Test drive the car to see if the noise was rectified.
Alternative 2: Replace damper caps. If a critical customer rejects the felt tape solution, it may be required to replace the damper caps. Installing these
will solve the noise but the repair will take longer time since the complete front struts have to be removed from the car.
Remove front struts from vehicle according to VIDA.
