Voltage Regulator: Service and Repair

Governor, replacing

Removal

Governor

-

Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting See: Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery, Disconnecting 

-

Remove the positive lead from the generator (GEN)

-

Disconnect the connector
Hint:

-

The generator (GEN) must be removed on gasoline driven cars with turbochargers (TC):

5 cylinder engines. See Generator (GEN), replacing See: Alternator/Service and Repair

6 cylinder engines. See Generator (GEN), replacing See: Alternator/Service and Repair.

Undo the nuts on the cover

-

Slacken off the screws. Remove the cover

-

Remove the 3 screws from the governor

-

Lift the governor up / out.

In reverse order.
