Checking the wires and components

Ignition off.

Disconnect audio/telephone switch unit by loosening the lower connector on the audio/telephone switch unit.

Ignition on.
Activate buttons and read status on cruise-control switch unit buttons.
If read-out gave a correct result the fault is in the audio/telephone switch unit.
