Replacing the starter motor

Removal

Starter motor

Disconnect the battery negative lead according to Battery, replacing See: Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Battery,
Replacing.

Caution! When removing and installing the battery leads, see Battery, disconnecting See: Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures/Battery,
Disconnecting.

Remove the air cleaner (ACL) housing

Remove the solenoid / solenoid valve from the air cleaner (ACL) housing

Remove the air cleaner (ACL) housing.

Remove the front screw from the bracket for the starter motor.

The starter motor bracket is withdrawn during the 2002 model year

Disconnect the connector and the cable from the solenoid

-

Remove the 2 screws securing the starter motor to the transmission

-

Remove the starter motor.
