S90 L6-2.9L VIN 96 B6304S (1998)
1. Install pump and pipes

Put paper over the generator.
There may be oil left in the pump.

Install the five mounting screws.
Note that the lower rear mounting screw also holds a connector.
Tighten screws to 25 Nm (18.5 ft. lbs.).

Install return hose and pressure hose, use a new O-ring on the pressure hose.
2. Install thermostat housing with radiator hose
3. Install the pump drive belt.

Use an interlock-or bar to tension the automatic tensioner.

On later versions use socket with a bar.
4. Top up coolant.
5. Top up oil level in the servo reservoir and bleed the system

Transmission oil grade:
ATF oil type F. G.
Dexron II D, E, III
Ford Mercon
Volvos synthetic ATF oil, P/N 1 161 317-1.
NOTE:
-
Synthetic oil can be mixed with normal ATF but the cold weather properties are greatly reduced.

When changing to synthetic oil the system should be completely emptied of oil.

Repeatedly turn the steering wheel to full lock.
Top up oil if necessary.

Set the parking brake, then start engine.

Check oil level during bleeding.
-
Turn steering wheel slowly to the right, hold on full lock for 10 seconds.
