Reconnect control rod to gear lever arm.

Secure rod with washer and snap ring, ensuring that ring is seated in groove.

Reinstall/Reconnect:

center console panel and console
wiring to center console switch
ashtray
soundproofing panels on each side
battery ground lead

Check and, if necessary, adjust gear selector.

Cars with key lock function:

check and, if necessary, adjust key lock function.
check shift lock override function.
