Replacing the front oil seal

Special tools:

 999 5433 COUNTERHOLD  See: Tools and Equipment/999 5433 Counterhold 
 999 5455 PUNCH  See: Tools and Equipment/999 5455 Punch 
 951 2661 Replaced by 9512834 See: Tools and Equipment/951 2661 Replaced by 9512834 

Test the oil pressure if the oil pressure seems to be too low or the oil pump seems defective. See Oil pressure: Inspecting and replacing the oil pressure
sensor See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pressure Sensor/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Inspecting And Replacing The Oil Pressure Sensor.
Remove the timing belt, see Replacing the timing belt See: Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.

Removing the vibration damper

Remove the splash guards under the engine.
Remove the vibration damper. Use counterhold 999 5433 COUNTERHOLD  See: Tools and Equipment/999 5433 Counterhold.

Removing the timing pulley from the crankshaft
