Control Module: Procedures
Replacing the transmission control module (TCM)
Information
CAUTION: When transferring the transmission control module (TCM) between different cars, make a note of any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
and the status of counters and frozen values before removing the control module from the car. Turn off the ignition before removing the control
module from the car.
NOTE! Always check that the control module and cable harness connector pins and sockets are undamaged and that these have not been pressed out
of their locking positions. Damaged or loose pins or sockets may cause a fault.
Removing the control module
Ignition off
Remove

Center console locker or large-fronted radio
-
Ashtray holder (2 screws)
-
Right side panel
-
Remove the control module from the bracket
-
Disconnect the control module connector
-
Remove the control module.
Installing the control module
Check that none of the pins or sockets on the connector are damaged.

Install the new control module
-
Ignition on
-
Read off and erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Reinstall panels, center console locker etc.
