Open the hood.
If necessary, remove the cover over the headlamps.
Remove the engine cover.
Does not apply to B4184SM/SJ:Remove the mounting nuts for the heat deflector plate. Remove the plate from the cowl panel.
Does not apply to turbocharged gasoline engines:Remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold.
Remove the heat deflector plate from the steering gear housing by removing the mounting screws and then pulling the plate away from the steering gear
housing (clamps). Move the heat deflector plate as far as possible to the side.
Removing the delivery line from the power steering pump (B4184SM/SJ)
