Checking parameters
Check the function of the parameters below. If necessary, correct those parameters (a)-(h) that are incorrect.
Note! If there is no map CD (GPS information) in the CD player, " -" will appear in the display for the CD drive. A map CD must be in the CD
player to carry out diagnostics on the CD drive.
Note! The total time of this self-diagnostic must not exceed 40 seconds.
Parameter (a): Displays the vehicle speed signal from the combined instrument panel. Must display "00000" when the car is stationary. The value must
then increase and decrease with speed as appropriate. There is a fault in the signal from the combined instrument panel or a fault in the audio unit if
00000 is not displayed when the car is stationary, or if the value does not increase or decrease with the vehicle speed. See Checking the vehicle speed
signalfor information about corrective action.
Parameter (b): Displays the gyro signal from the integrated yaw rate sensor (detects the sideways movement of the car). The value should be between
490-520 when the car is stationary. The value must change when the car turns in any direction during the test drive. Replace the audio unit if the value
does not change.
Parameter (c): Displays the status of the signal from the back-up (reversing) lamp switch. When the engine is running and back-up (reverse) gear is not
selected, the status must be displayed as: " Not R" (Not Reverse). When the engine is running and back-up (reverse) gear is selected, the status must be
displayed as: " R" (reverse). There is a fault in the circuit for the back-up lamps or the audio unit if the function is not OK. See Checking the back-up
signalfor information about corrective action.
Parameter (d)-(h): "OK" will be displayed if the self-diagnostic does not detect any faults in the units (d-h). " NG" (Not Good) will be displayed for
the relevant unit (d-h) if a fault is registered. If "NG" is displayed, replace the audio unit (does not apply to parameter (f)see below). There is a fault in
the circuit for the GPS antenna if " NG" (Not Good) is displayed for parameter (f). See Checking the GPS antenna visually, Checking GPS

Remedy as necessary.
