Auxiliary Cabin Heater Fuel Pump: Service and Repair
Replacing the fuel pump
Removal
Preparations
Remove the heater according to Replacing heat exchanger See: Auxiliary Cabin Heater Housing/Service and Repair.
Fuel line and fuel pump
Warning! Protective gloves and protective goggles must be used for the following operations. This is due to the risk of fuel spillage.
Remove the screw holding the clamp around the fuel pump.
Remove the lower clamp on the fuel line. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump.
Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
Remove the fuel pump.
Transfer the clamp to the new pump.
Installation
Fuel pump and fuel line
Reinstall in reverse order.
Final check
Test run the heater. Check the function of the heater according to Test running the additional heater / parking heater See: Testing and Inspection/Initial
Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
Check both the coolant hoses and the fuel lines for leakage.
Top up the coolant if necessary.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) have been stored during the repair work.
