Shift Interlock Cable: Procedures

Replacing the key lock cable 

Removal 
Removing the cable from the steering wheel lock cylinder 
Remove 

-

the panel under the dashboard on the driver's side

-

the lower steering column cover

-

the cable sleeve mounting screw (A)

-

the two screws (B) for the cover

-

the cable.

Note:  The retaining clip for the cable may fall out. Do not lose it.

Removing the cable from the gear lever 

-

Remove the center console according to Rear center console

-

Select P position

-

Slide the cable backwards away from the steering wheel (B)

-

Remove the cable from the lever (C)

-

Slide the adjuster unit together with the cable and the cable sleeve out of the bracket (A).
